Family Retirement was established in 2018, following KJ's four-year tenure at a small independent firm. Recognizing the value of being an independent Registered Investment Advisor (RIA), she embarked on establishing her own practice with a focus on comprehensive planning that incorporates family members and encourages open dialogues about finance.
As a Master Registered Financial Consultant (MRFC®), Life Insurance Agent, and a member of the National Ethics Association, KJ is well-versed in the financial planning process. She holds the distinction of being the first female in the state of Washington to achieve an MRFC®. Her commitment to ongoing education is evident through her events at schools and workplaces, providing generational solutions in an ever-changing financial landscape. Her noteworthy contributions have garnered local and national recognition, including a recent feature in Fortune magazine as one of the Under 40 Wealth Managers.
Beyond her financial expertise, KJ is a Seattle restaurant owner and real estate investor. In her leisure time, she dedicates herself to community service, serving on the board for Launch, a nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring every child has equitable access to a bright start. Additionally, she actively contributes to her son's PTSA as the Staff Appreciation Coordinator. Not one for frequent selfies, KJ takes immense pride in her culinary and knitting escapades.
